The Mission REACH (Relevance and Excellence in ACHieving new heights in educational institutions) was launched by TIFAC during October 2000, aiming towards the development of human resources of international standards, imparting high quality education in chosen areas of high relevance to industry and society by creating sustainable linkages between academia and industry. Select engineering, science and technical Institutions are upgraded as Centres of Excellence and the level of education is broadened in order to meet the S&T manpower demand in the advanced emerging areas. So far 31 COREs have been set up in various academic institutions spread across the country.
